These earrings are in honour of 7 year old Sidra Hassouna and her twin sister Suzan. They were killed alongisde their 15 month old brother, parents, uncle and over 75 others during a series of airstrikes in Rafah carried out by the IDF on 12 February 2024.
I remember seeing Sidra's lifeless body hanging from a destroyed house, her legs blown entirely off. It was horrific. Sidra, like so many tens of thousands of children killed in Palestine, just wanted to live and dream and play, like every other child.
